manniness: I am thinking... (Default)

Greetings!  Long time no SQUEEE!  (^__~)b  Heh heh.  Yeah, I thought that was pretty witty.  Obviously, I am derranged, but aaaaannywaaaaay...

So, I know I've never just posted for the heck of it on this account.  (I mean, my posts have always been related to the release of new fanfic.)  But I've decided it might be a good idea to start spamming my flist updating every now and again just so you all know I'm still alive and active in the AiW fandom.  (^__~)

In not-so-recent news, I signed up to write an AiW fic for the [livejournal.com profile] scifibigbang .

In recent news, I've started writing my fic (finally!) and here's what we have so far:

Fandom: Alice in Wonderland (Burton & Lewis Carroll)
Pairing: Alice Kingsleigh & Tarrant Hightopp (of course... I'm boringly predictable that way)
Rating: M+ for sexual situations (not terribly explicit, but it's better to be safe than sorry)
Genre/Notes: Family drama type stuff, lots of character development, 30-something-year-old Alice POV, not-very-nutty!Hatter
Status: 22,000 words out of probably 35,000
Link to teaser: Here on Snippet Post, Round 3

I'm currently looking for a beta or two, so if you're interested at all please let me know!  My rough draft is due (as per the Scifi Big Bang Rules) on June 30.  The "beta window" is from July 1 through July 17 although I may have the story ready before then and will be happy to wait until July 25 or so for feedback although I will probably be pacing like mad the entire time.  (So, yeah, I'm pretty flexible.)

That's the deal, then.  I hope to hear from you, if not about the beta business (Alliteration, Hatter!) then for more fangirl fun in the future!  (I'm on a roll!)  (^__~)

Hey! It's great to see you again! (And, BTW, I love your LJ theme.)

You're a fan of "How to Train Your Dragon", too? I love that movie. Must get it when it comes out on DVD here. (I'd buy the U.S. version except I can't ask my hubby to muddle through the thick accents on a re-watch. I love those accents, though. OMG, Gerald Butler FTW.)

Ahem. Sorry. Got a little carried away there. Heh.
