A fic without UST or ANGST!

Yeah... I think I've really set myself a hard task this time.

How did this happen, you ask?

*sigh*

Well, I printed out what I had written of The Envelope (all 25,000 words of it) and read it during the weekend (spent at the in-laws') and ended up crossing out all the instances of insecurity between Alice and the Hatter.  The fic still has uncertainty, of course, but it's all from external sources.  Hopefully, Alice and the Hatter's relationship will still be believable even though they don't really go through that whole, typical "Does he/she really want me?" Phase.  Confident-and-proactive!Hatter and Alice-of-le-Mad-Muchness.  A mature relationship in fanfic -- that's what I'm aiming for.  Although I'm wondering how far off the mark I am...

It's tricky, eh? I find it easier to play off uncertainty as well. Best of luck to you. I'm sure you'll pull off what you're hoping to achieve.

I worked on it for about an hour last night, not much, but it continues to creep along. Still not in love, but we'll see.

Yeeeaaaah... sometimes I'm loving this fic and sometimes I'm totally bored with it. Stalled out now at the beginning of part 3 (which is probably the final part). Know exactly what I've got to write, I just need some caffeine or something to get the "ommph" to do it.
