manniness: I am thinking... (Default)

Just in case you missed it, Downal Wyth Bluddy Clichés has had an interesting reponse: some discussion (which you are welcome to join!) and a recommended fic (more are welcome!) as well as a new fic by [livejournal.com profile] yappichick (it's a lovely Mally POV peice... and it portrays how Underland changed under the Red Queen's increasing power prior to Tim Burton's film).

All in all, very encouraging!  So a big Thank You goes out to everyone who has participated so far!  I'll be posting a new cliché to discuss, debunk, and deconstruct on Thursday, the 12th.  (If you have one you'd like to see featured, please let me know.  Otherwise, I'll be working down my list.)

In Scifi Big Bang news, I now have two official betas.  (Yay!)  And several very kind cheerleaders.  (Whoo-hoo!)  And my entry ("The Envelope") has reached 32,000 words (which has satisfied the write +25k requirement of the big bang -- the story was about 4500 words to begin with) but I'm not finished yet!

Grar.

And if we have another "preview day" on May 15th over at [livejournal.com profile] scifibigbang , it's gonna be tough to pick which chunk of 200-300 words to post.  But I will do my best!  (^__~)

Now back to glaring at the blinking cursor and finding new ways to procrastinate.  Like tweaking my fanmix for this little beastie of a fic...

P.S. OMG, I haven't listened to this many power!lovesong-ballads since... uhm... college?  Dude.  This stuff is gonna give me cavities, you guys.  So I guess I'd better finish this fic soon so I can go back to my super!angst playlist.

OMG. Rolling on car hoods F.T.W. I actually enjoyed that visual so much that it has taken me this long to wrangle my enthusiasm for your Awesomeness and reply. (^__~)

Life is busy here, but busy is good. Sort of. Although it's kinda sad when my 60-something-year-old students know more about U.S. pop music than I do. Or not... I'm on the fence about it, actually.

LOL The visual of me rolling around on cars is a powerful and mighty thing. Use it with care. :P

Busy is good, as long as you taking time for yourself. *finger waggling of the stern*

Current U.S. pop music is daily getting more and more painful. I still haven't entirely recovered from the trauma of watching Lady Gaga's video for Judas.
