manninessYes, let's try another cliché (and a topic which has been on my mind a lot recently).
Hamish is Alice's antagonist.
Now, initially in the Alice in Wonderland 2010 fandom, there were several stories which featured Hamish as The Bad Guy and while there's nothing wrong with that (although I personally can't See it) I've noticed more and more Awesome!Hamish or Dutiful!Hamish or Friendly!Hamish fics.
What I'm curious about is why? What makes Hamish a sympathetic character? And, conversely, what makes him villain material?
